ABOUT US

In 1999, Jill & Jim Tallman opened The HOMEPLACE of Mondovi, the first assisted living RCAC to have the name “HOMEPLACE”.  The name seemed to fit with the rural farming community.  Frequently a family’s home farm is called, the ‘homeplace’ – the place of family ties.  Jim and Jill’s goal was to create a place for elderly people to age comfortably while staying in their home community and receiving the care they needed.  When Mondovi opened, 16 assisted living apartments quickly grew to 24 and then in 2005, four more were added in response to demand.   All of this renovation and development occurred in a recycled building that was a former health care facility.

In October of 2007, seven of these units were converted into the HOMEPLACE Haven, a Memory Care unit.  Haven was dedicated in loving memory to Jill’s Aunt Beatty who lived happily in spite of Alzheimer’s.  Now there are 21 assisted living apartments and 7 Haven apartments located at The HOMEPLACE of Mondovi.

•All care-giving staff members respond to the health care need of all tenants as the needs arise. Family conferences are arranged as tenant needs change as part of the service to all. Our activities director enjoys leading everyone in exercises, games and other programs.

•Delicious meals are prepared by our cooks at Alberta May's Restaurant (located in our Stanley complex).  We feature home cooked meals.  Each HOMEPLACE also has an on-site preparation and serving kitchen.

•From the time a decision is made to move to one of our HOMEPLACES, we offer as many choices as possible.  This freedom of choice is shown in many ways: from the range of options for personal care to freedom in decorating an apartment.  Over time, as  the tenants' physical and medical needs change, our facilities and staff seamlessly transition the services to accommodate any need.  In our RCAC Assisted Living Apartments we can provide up to 28 hours of care each week. In our CBRF Haven Alzheimer's & Dementia care units we provide unlimited care.  Our tenants and residents retain their freedom and independence as much as possible by having their own apartment homes, while receiving selected services.  Couples can stay together.  Family members may visit and even make reservations to use our guest rooms.  Friends and family are always welcome to enjoy meals with tenants.
