ABOUT US |
In 1999, Jill & Jim Tallman opened The HOMEPLACE of Mondovi, the first assisted living RCAC to have the name “HOMEPLACE”. The name seemed to fit with the rural farming community. Frequently a family’s home farm is called, the ‘homeplace’ – the place of family ties. Jim and Jill’s goal was to create a place for elderly people to age comfortably while staying in their home community and receiving the care they needed. When Mondovi opened, 16 assisted living apartments quickly grew to 24 and then in 2005, four more were added in response to demand. All of this renovation and development occurred in a recycled building that was a former health care facility. In October of 2007, seven of these units were converted into the HOMEPLACE Haven, a Memory Care unit. Haven was dedicated in loving memory to Jill’s Aunt Beatty who lived happily in spite of Alzheimer’s. Now there are 21 assisted living apartments and 7 Haven apartments located at The HOMEPLACE of Mondovi.
